Restoril works by slowing down the central nervous system, causing drowsiness which helps patients fall asleep. The medicine is available in tablet form and is taken by mouth. It should be used for less than ten days. Its effect generally begins within an hour and lasts for up to eight hours. The dose quantity of Restoril is different for different types of patients.
