White grew up in Brooklyn, in the Carroll Gardens area, alongside a younger sister, Annabelle. His parents had artistic and theater roots—his mother worked in education, and his father ran a business filming depositions after earlier theatrical work. As a child and teenager, he initially trained in dance forms—jazz, tap, ballet—before gravitating toward acting.
