What is a process indicator? samyak.co.inban site

A process indicator is an industrial measuring device used to monitor and display important process parameters such as temperature, pressure, flow, level, voltage, or current in real time. It receives input signals from field sensors or transmitters (like 4–20 mA or 0–10 V signals) and converts them into a clear digital value shown on the display. A digital process indicator is designed for high accuracy and easy readability, making it ideal for control panels, automation systems, manufacturing units, and process plants where continuous monitoring is critical. These instruments help operators quickly understand process conditions and maintain operational stability. A process controller works in combination with a process indicator but includes control functionality. While a process indicator only displays the measured value, a process controller compares the measured value with a preset setpoint and automatically activates relays or control outputs to maintain the desired condition. In modern industrial automation, both devices are essential for precise monitoring and control of production systems.
