Can the same line make uPVC, CPVC and HDPE pipe? uniqueextrusion.comban site

No, uPVC, CPVC, and HDPE pipes generally cannot be produced on the exact same extrusion line without changes. Each material has different processing temperatures, screw designs, tooling, and cooling requirements. For uPVC pipes, a conical twin-screw extruder is commonly used along with suitable dies, vacuum calibration, cooling, haul-off, and cutting equipment. CPVC requires different processing conditions and specially designed screws and dies because it is processed at higher temperatures. HDPE is normally produced using a single-screw extruder designed for polyethylene, with different tooling and cooling requirements. So, when preparing a pvc pipe manufacturing plant machine list, it is better to plan the machinery according to the specific material you want to manufacture. Some downstream equipment may be adaptable between products, but the main extrusion system and tooling usually need to be material-specific.
