Meridia is a prescribed medicine that is used to help in reducing overweight and manage weight off with schedular eating. It should be used with the combination of physician direction and a low calorie diet. The active ingredient is sibutramine hydrochloride monohydrate where sibutramine is the reuptake inhibitor which helps to activate a sense of satiety and decrease calorie intake. After a period of observation it has been observed that most of the patients have lost about 6-8% of their body weight within the duration. It has been also observed that consistency to weight management is shown as long as the drug is being continued.
