Fentanyl can indirectly increase stroke risk, though it doesn’t typically cause stroke directly. Overdose may lead to severe respiratory depression, reducing oxygen to the brain (hypoxia), which can result in brain injury or trigger a stroke. Fentanyl can also cause low blood pressure and cardiac complications. Contaminants in illicit supplies may further raise risks. Combining with other depressants significantly increases the danger.
