What is ibm, and what do we learn about it today? An operating system that was initially created by IBM for its AS/400 family of systems is now most frequently referred to as IBM I. OS/400 was the system's original moniker. In 2004, IBM renamed this product i5/OS, but in 2008 it underwent another name change to become IBM I. The I in its name refers to "integrated."
