Microsoft, in collaboration with global law enforcement agencies, has successfully dismantled the Lumma Stealer malware network. This malware-as-a-service (MaaS) tool, developed by a Russian actor known as "Shamel," was widely used by cybercriminals to steal sensitive information such as passwords, credit card details, bank credentials, and cryptocurrency wallet data. Between March 16 and May 16, 2025, Lumma Stealer infected over 394,000 Windows computers worldwide
