The good news for Indians who want to work in Dubai or anywhere in the UAE is that IELTS is not required for a Dubai work permit or a Dubai work visa for Indian citizens. Many people get confused because IELTS is a common requirement for study visas in countries like Canada, the UK, or Australia, but when it comes to visas for Dubai from India for jobs, the UAE government does not make IELTS compulsory. What really matters for a Dubai work visa is that you have a valid job offer from a registered UAE employer, your passport is valid for at least six months, you pass the required medical fitness test, and your employer gets approval from MOHRE (Ministry of Human Resources & Emiratisation). Once this approval is complete, you receive an entry permit (pink visa), travel to Dubai, finish your medical check, apply for an Emirates ID, and get your residence visa stamped in your passport. After these steps, you are fully legal to start your job in Dubai. So IELTS has no role in the work permit process, although having good English communication can always help you in interviews and workplace communication.
